Benefits and applications
The DURO HF-255 in size 21x11.00-8 is specifically designed for professional and semi-professional use in the agricultural and horticultural sector. The tread pattern provides good grip on grass, soil and slightly moist ground without excessively damaging the surface. Thanks to its 4PR construction, the tyre offers solid stability and durability with a moderate load capacity of 116 kg.
Due to its TL (tubeless) construction, the tyre is low-maintenance and easy to mount, provided the rim is suitable. With a speed index of A3 and a maximum speed of 15 km/h, it is ideal for slow working vehicles where traction, stability and ground protection are the main priorities.
Explanation of technical terms
- TL (Tubeless): Tubeless tyre that is mounted directly on a suitable rim without a separate inner tube.
- TT (Tube Type): Refers to tyres that are used with a separate inner tube (mentioned here only for distinction, this tyre is TL).
- PR (Ply Rating): Indicates the load capacity class of the tyre and provides an indication of the carcass strength. 4PR stands for light to medium load capacity.
- SI (Speed Index): Indicates the maximum permissible speed for which the tyre is approved. A3 corresponds to a maximum speed of 15 km/h.
- Load capacity: Maximum load that a tyre can safely carry at the correct air pressure and specified speed.
- Tyre pressure: Recommended operating pressure in bar, important for load capacity, mileage and safety.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
