Benefits and application
This 3.00-4 tyre + tube from KINGS TIRE is ideal for sack trucks, platform trolleys and similar manual handling equipment used in warehouses, workshops, horticulture or light industrial applications. The 6PR version offers a reinforced carcass designed for higher loads and a longer service life.
The TT tyre type (with tube) in combination with the JS87 valve type allows easy mounting on standard 4-inch rims. With a load capacity of up to 224 kg and a maximum speed of 15 km/h, this tyre is optimally suited for low-speed transport applications where stability, puncture resistance and reliability are the main priorities.
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Tyre construction in which a separate inner tube is used inside the tyre.
- PR (Ply Rating): Ply Rating indicates the load capacity class of the carcass. Higher values (e.g. 6PR) stand for more robust tyres with higher load capacity.
- LI (Load Index): The load index is a code that indicates the maximum permissible load capacity of the tyre. LI 56 corresponds here to a load capacity of 224 kg.
- SI (Speed Index): The speed index indicates the maximum permissible speed for which the tyre is approved. A3 stands for a maximum speed of 15 km/h.
- Rim size (inch size): Indicates the nominal diameter of the rim on which the tyre is mounted, given in inches.
- Valve type JS87: Special valve type frequently used on small tyres for sack trucks and similar equipment, allowing easy inflation.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
