Benefits and applications
The 4PR construction provides a well-balanced combination of stability and flexibility, ensuring reliable performance even under frequent use. With a load capacity of 71 kg per tyre, it is very well suited for light transport tasks and smaller machines. The speed index N allows use at higher driving speeds up to 140 km/h, for example on light trailers or fast transport equipment.
As a TL (tubeless) tyre, it is mounted without an inner tube, which reduces the risk of sudden air loss and simplifies maintenance. The V-1509 tread pattern ensures good traction on firm surfaces and stable straight-line running. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the tyre is particularly suitable for narrow machines and trailers in industrial and semi-professional use.
Explanation of technical terms
- TL (Tubeless): Tubeless tyre that seals directly on the rim. No separate tube required, less susceptible to sudden air loss.
- PR (Ply Rating): Indicates the load capacity class of the tyre. 4PR stands for a reinforced carcass compared to basic versions and thus higher load capacity.
- Load index (LI): Numerical code for the maximum permissible load capacity of a tyre. LI 16 corresponds here to a load capacity of 71 kg.
- Speed index (SI): Letter code for the maximum permissible speed. SI N means approval up to 140 km/h.
- Tyre pressure: The recommended operating pressure (here 0.3 bar) is crucial for load capacity, driving behaviour and tyre life.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
