Benefits and applications
This tyre + tube set is specially designed for use on wheelbarrows and go-karts, but is equally suitable for transport equipment in retail, transport and light industry. The 4PR construction offers a good combination of stability and puncture resistance while keeping the weight moderate. The TR13 tube with straight valve allows easy mounting and convenient inflation.
With a maximum tyre pressure of 2.9 bar and a load capacity of 220 kg, the tyre is ideally suited for transporting bulk materials, building materials or goods – wherever low driving speeds up to 15 km/h are sufficient. The S-2202 tread pattern ensures reliable traction and good running characteristics on typical surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, yard and garden areas.
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Tyre construction in which a separate tube is used. In contrast, TL (Tubeless) does not require a tube.
- PR (Ply Rating): Indicates the relative load capacity and robustness of the carcass. 4PR means a reinforced version for higher loads compared to basic versions.
- SI (Speed Index): Indicates the maximum permissible driving speed of the tyre. A3 corresponds to a maximum speed of 15 km/h.
- Load capacity: Maximum load that a tyre can safely carry at the correct air pressure and within the specified speed index.
- Rim size: Nominal diameter of the rim on which the tyre is mounted, here 8 inch.
- Valve type TR13: Common straight valve type for tube tyres, used for many small tyres in industrial and garden applications.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
