Benefits and application
This NaRubb tyre + tube in size 4.00-4 is ideal for sack trucks, platform trolleys and similar equipment in the transport and light industry sectors. The 4PR carcass provides a reinforced structure and higher resistance to impacts and loads. With a load capacity of 160 kg and a maximum speed of 16 km/h, the tyre is perfectly suited for in-plant transport, yard work and warehouse operations.
The S-2303 tread pattern ensures secure grip on solid surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or paving and provides smooth running characteristics. The supplied tube with JS87 valve type allows easy inflation and reliably maintains the set air pressure of 3.5 bar. Thanks to the TT design (Tube Type), the tyre is particularly service-friendly: tube changes and repairs can be carried out quickly and cost-effectively.
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Tyre construction in which a separate tube is used inside the tyre.
- PR (Ply Rating): Ply Rating indicates the load capacity class of the carcass. A higher PR number stands for a more robust, more durable construction.
- Inch size: Indicates the tyre size in inches, here 4 inch.
- Load capacity: Maximum load that the tyre can safely carry at the correct air pressure.
- Tyre pressure (bar): Recommended air pressure that ensures optimum load capacity, mileage and safety.
- Max. speed: Maximum speed at which the tyre may be used in its intended application.
- Valve type JS87: Special angled valve designed for use on small wheels (e.g. sack trucks) and facilitating inflation.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
