Benefits and applications
This tyre + tube in size 2.50-4 is ideal for sack trucks, platform trolleys and similar equipment used in in-house transport or light industry. The V-5501 tread pattern provides good grip on hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or paving and allows safe manoeuvring even when fully loaded up to 75 kg.
The 4PR construction stands for a reinforced carcass that offers higher resistance to punctures and damage. The recommended tyre pressure of 2.5 bar ensures a balanced ratio between ride comfort and load capacity. With a maximum speed of 15 km/h, this tyre is optimally designed for hand-guided or slow-moving transport equipment.
Thanks to the TT design (tube-type tyre) and valve type DIN7777 90/90, easy mounting and maintenance are possible. This makes the tyre + tube from KINGS TIRE a reliable choice for commercial users and demanding DIY enthusiasts.
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Denotes a tyre that is used with a separate inner tube.
- PR (Ply Rating): Ply Rating indicates the relative load capacity class of the carcass. A higher number (e.g. 4PR) stands for a more robust, higher load-capacity design.
- Rim size: Indicates the rim diameter in inches (here 4 inch).
- Load capacity: Maximum load that the tyre can safely carry at the correct air pressure.
- Max. speed: Maximum permissible operating speed at which the tyre may be used safely.
- Valve type DIN7777 90/90: Standardised valve according to DIN 7777 with angle/position specification 90/90, suitable for typical sack truck and small-tyre rims.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

| 60 | 250 | 80 | 450 | 95 | 690 | 108 | 1,000 |

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

| J | 100 | M | 130 | Q | 160 |

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
