Benefits and application
This tyre and tube set is ideal for hay tedders and similar agricultural implements operating at low speeds up to 20 km/h. The 4PR carcass offers a well-balanced combination of stability and flexibility, ensuring reliable performance even under changing soil conditions. The load capacity of 280 kg per wheel allows safe use under typical loads in hay and grassland management.
As a TT tyre (Tube Type) with a separate tube, the tyre is particularly service-friendly, as tube changes and repairs are easy to carry out. The V-3503 tread pattern ensures good grip on grass, soil and slightly uneven ground without causing excessive soil damage.
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Tube-type tyre – the tyre is operated with a separate inner tube.
- TL (Tubeless): Tubeless tyre – the air is contained directly in the tyre/rim bed (mentioned here only for distinction, this tyre is TT).
- PR (Ply Rating): Ply Rating – indicator of the load capacity class of the carcass. A higher number stands for a more robust construction and higher load capacity.
- LI (Load Index): Indicator of the maximum permissible load capacity of a tyre (not given here as an index number; instead, the load capacity is stated directly in kg).
- SI (Speed Index): Indicator of the maximum permissible speed of a tyre (given here as a specific maximum speed of 20 km/h).
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
