- Select how it opens: ramp folds down (e.g. horse trailer tailgate), flap opens from bottom to top, or lid opens upwards (e.g. storage box, bonnet).
- Describe the flap: length, width, thickness and weight – the weight can be calculated automatically from the dimensions and material (wood, plastic, aluminium, steel etc.). Plus opening angle, number of gas springs (a pair is recommended) and the desired operating force.
- Mounting points: for a replacement spring, three measurements taken with the flap closed are enough: the eye-to-eye length of the installed spring (which is also the order length!) plus dimensions B and C from the hinge centre. For a new installation, the tool automatically suggests the best points.
