Benefits and applications
The KINGS TIRE 5.00-12 V-8509 4PR TT is designed for professional use in agriculture and horticulture. The V-8509 tread pattern ensures good grip on soft and slightly moist ground without causing unnecessary damage. The 4PR construction provides solid stability and resistance to loads in daily work.
With a load capacity of 280 kg and a maximum speed of 15 km/h, this tyre is ideal for slow working vehicles where traction, stability and safety are more important than high driving speeds. The TT (Tube Type) tyre requires the use of a suitable inner tube and ensures reliable operation even under changing ground conditions.
Typical fields of application are:
- Compact tractors and single-axle machines in gardening and landscaping
- Small agricultural and forestry equipment
- Municipal work machines with low driving speed
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Tyre construction that can only be used in combination with a separate inner tube.
- PR (Ply Rating): Ply Rating indicates the load capacity class of the carcass. A higher PR number stands for a more robust construction and higher load capacity.
- Load capacity: Maximum load that a tyre may safely carry at the specified pressure and operating conditions.
- Tyre pressure (bar): Recommended operating pressure of the tyre. The correct pressure is crucial for load capacity, service life and driving safety.
- Max. speed: Maximum permissible speed at which the tyre may be used to ensure safety and service life.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| J | 100 | M | 130 | Q | 160 |

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
