Benefits and field of application
The KINGS TIRE 4.00-8 V-8803 is specifically designed for use on smaller tractors and equipment in agricultural and horticultural environments. Thanks to its V-8803 tread pattern, the tyre offers good grip on unpaved ground, meadows and fields, thus supporting safe operation when mowing, transporting or soil cultivation.
The 4PR carcass ensures a well-balanced combination of stability and flexibility, allowing the tyre to work reliably even on changing surfaces. With a load index of 44 and a load capacity of 160 kg, it is suitable for many typical attachments and light transport tasks. The permissible tyre pressure of 2.8 bar and the maximum speed of 30 km/h make this tyre ideal for slow work journeys in yard, field and garden areas.
Explanation of technical terms
- TT (Tube Type): Tyre construction that requires the use of a separate inner tube. In contrast, TL tyres (Tubeless) are used without an inner tube.
- PR (Ply Rating): Indicator for the load and stability class of the carcass. 4PR means a light to medium reinforcement, suitable for common agricultural applications in this size range.
- LI (Load Index): The load index indicates the maximum permissible load per tyre at a specified air pressure. LI 44 corresponds to a load capacity of 160 kg.
- SI (Speed Index): The speed index defines the maximum permissible speed for which the tyre is designed. A6 stands for a maximum speed of 30 km/h.
- Rim size: Indicates the rim diameter on which the tyre is mounted. In this case 8 inch.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
