Benefits and applications
The KINGS TIRE 24x8.00-12 KT-168 4PR TL impresses with its well-balanced design for daily use in transport and light industry. With a load capacity of 121 kg and a speed index L (up to 120 km/h), it is perfectly suited for light transport vehicles, small trailers, industrial trucks or special work machines that are used both on paved surfaces and on firm ground.
The 4PR carcass provides sufficient stability while keeping the weight moderate, which has a positive effect on driving comfort and energy consumption. The KT-168 tread offers a good compromise between traction and rolling resistance and ensures safe running even in frequent stop-and-go operation. As a tubeless tyre (TL), it allows easy mounting, reduced maintenance and, compared to tube-type solutions, a lower risk of punctures.
Explanation of technical terms
- TL (Tubeless): Tubeless tyre that seals directly on the rim. Advantages are lower weight, easier mounting and reduced puncture risk compared to tyres with tube (TT = Tube Type).
- PR (Ply Rating): Indicates the load capacity class of the carcass. 4PR means light to medium reinforcement, suitable for the corresponding load ranges.
- LI (Load Index): Numerical code for the maximum permissible load capacity of a tyre. LI 35 corresponds here to a load capacity of 121 kg.
- SI (Speed Index): Letter code for the maximum permissible speed. SI L stands for a maximum speed of up to 120 km/h.
- Rim size: Indicates the rim diameter on which the tyre is mounted – here 12 inch.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
