Benefits and applications
The 225/40-10 V-1515 TL tyre from KINGS TIRE is specifically designed for use on transport and light industrial vehicles. The compact design with a diameter of 483 mm and a width of 256 mm ensures good manoeuvrability even in confined spaces. The V-1515 tread pattern provides reliable traction on solid surfaces and supports stable handling.
With a load capacity of 98 kg (LI 27) and a speed index N for up to 140 km/h, this tyre is ideally suited for light transport tasks. The tubeless design reduces the risk of sudden air loss and simplifies maintenance and mounting. Typical applications include light transport carts, small trailers, industrial conveyor vehicles and other uses where a compact, reliable tyre is required.
Explanation of technical terms
- TL (Tubeless): Indicates a tubeless tyre that is mounted directly on the rim without a separate inner tube. This reduces maintenance effort and the risk of tube damage.
- Tyre size (e.g. 225/40-10): Indicates width, aspect ratio and rim diameter. 225 stands for the tyre width in mm, 40 for the ratio of height to width in %, 10 for the rim diameter in inches.
- Rim size: Indicates the diameter of the rim on which the tyre is mounted, here 10 inch.
- LI (Load Index): The load index is a value for the maximum permissible load capacity of a tyre. LI 27 corresponds to a load capacity of 98 kg.
- SI (Speed Index): The speed index indicates the maximum permissible speed for which the tyre is designed. SI N stands for a maximum speed of 140 km/h.
Frequently asked questions about this product
Age: Trailer tyres age more as a result of being left stationary than from the number of kilometres travelled. It is advisable to replace them after around six years, even if the tread is still in good condition; for trailers approved for 100 km/h, this is mandatory. The date of manufacture is shown as a DOT number on the sidewall: 3223 means the 32nd calendar week of 2023.
Load capacity (Load Index, LI): The number before the letter indicates the load capacity per tyre. The fitted tyre must meet at least the value stated in the vehicle documents — a higher value is permitted, but a lower one is not.

Speed index: The letter following the load index indicates the maximum permitted speed. An ‘L’ is required for a 100 km/h rating.

Winter tyres: There is no requirement for winter tyres on trailers, as the wheels are not driven. An M+S or Alpine symbol is not required.
Tyre pressure: Trailer tyres require significantly higher pressure than car tyres. The correct pressure is specified in the vehicle documents or on the sticker on the trailer. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of tyre damage.
Tread depth: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm. You can also recognise old tyres by fine cracks in the sidewall and tread base.
Replacement: Tyres and complete wheels.
