Battery disposal

Note on the Disposal of Used Batteries

The following information is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and do not resell them in the form in which they were delivered to them (end users):

1. Free Return of Used Batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries so that proper disposal can be ensured. You can return used batteries to a municipal collection point or to local retailers. We, too, as a distributor of batteries, are obliged to take back used batteries, whereby our obligation to take back is limited to the type of used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range. You may therefore either send used batteries of the aforementioned type back to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge directly at our shipping warehouse at the address stated in the imprint.

2. Meaning of the Battery Symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries that contain more than 0.0005% mercury, more than 0.002% cadmium, or more than 0.004% lead by mass, the chemical symbol of the respective pollutant is shown below the bin symbol – “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Pb” stands for lead, and “Hg” stands for mercury.
